Garnet History
The garnet's gets its name from the ancient Greeks who felt its color was similar to the granatum or pomegranate fruit. The colors of garnets range from deep red to orange, and browns through purple, and green.
Garnet Information
Garnets are mined in Bohemia, Russian, and Africa. On the Mohs Hardness Scale the garnet has a rating of 7 to 7.5.
