The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas is stop motion animation film from 1993 from Tim Burton. While not widely received at the time of its release the film has grown into a cult classic widely popular among Tim Burton fans in the US and in abroad. The lead character of the film Jack Skellington is search for meaning and purpose in his life and decides he is going to improve Christmas.
Jack Skellington is voiced by long time Tim Burton collaborator Danny Elfman. Danny Elfman wrote all of the songs and orchestral pieces and lends his voice to Jack Skellington as well. This film is considered the breakthrough film for Danny Elfman who had no classical music training and came from the alternative music band Oingo Boingo. This film has been released in an updated DVD Special Edition featuring deleted scenes and interviews with the many creative talents involved in the films production.
